I’m Sorry For Forgetting Your Name

I’m sorry for forgetting your name

For not giving you an explanation

We often forget ourselves

Thinking we can hide

Behind the persona of a tiny screen

Before others can know the whole story

No doubt you’ve shaped mine

In your mind

It wouldn’t surprise me if I’m the villain

Not even the main one

Just a thief on a side quest

an incredible waste of time

And I know that isn’t me

Deep down inside

Yet I couldn’t even provide a key

A small ounce of gratitude

For you were no villain

We just weren’t meant to journey together

But still

You deserved better
